Colorado has become a second home for me lately as this was my 3rd trip since July, 2017. I hosted events for Freedom Service Dogs, Humane Society Boulder Valley and Foothills Animal Shelter. I have also set the dates for my next trip, which will be April 17-25. You can sign up for updates on that trip at agoldphoto.com/colorado.

Over the 8 days, I…

  • Hosted 4 Pet Photo Shoot Fundraisers
  • Held 1 Group Pet Photo Shoot Party
  • Had 2 In-Home Pet Photo Shoots
  • Hosted 3 Office Dog Photo Shoots (Humane Society Boulder Valley, Kong and Justin’s)
  • Took photos of 143 dogs and cats
  • Raised $2,765 for the participating shelters

Thank you to…

  • Locavore Beer Works, Finkel & Garf Brewing Co., Romero’s K9 Club and Tap House and Holidaily Brewing Company for letting me host events at their venues.
  • Bow Haus, Kong, and Only Natural Pet for providing goodies for participants
  • Zuke’s and Justin’s for providing treats and peanut butter to help me bring out the pet’s personality in their photos
  • My hosts, Lauren and Greg. I wouldn’t be able to go on these trips without a place to stay
  • My contacts at each organization (Candace, Amanda and Nadine). Your support is much appreciated!

The trip wasn’t all work though. I did get a chance to see the sights too.

I had the day free prior to a scheduling a Group Pet Photo Shoot Party near Colorado Springs, so I explored Garden of the Gods. I don’t think they have this, but they should make a dog park nearby called “Garden of the dogs”.

One of the Gardens’ main attractions is the Leaning Rock

After checking out Garden of the Gods, I searched “healthy” in Yelp and found Adam’s Mountain Cafe close by. I couldn’t pass it up, especially because of how great the name is.

After lunch, I still had some time, so I checked out the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. They are a group of relocated Anasazi ruined cliff dwellings located just west of Colorado Springs on U.S. Highway 24 in Manitou Springs.

During the 8 days, I had photo shoots booked every day except for Sunday, so I spent my day off in Breckenridge. Here’s a view from the Colorado trail, which we hiked for 4 miles. The view was amazing.

I was also able to get some exercise in at Weneka Lake Park in Lafayette. The track is a little over a mile and has amazing views.

I am very fortunate that my passion for pets and photography has given me the opportunity to travel and see the country. I’ll be back in Colorado to host more Pet Photo Shoot events in April, 2018. You can sign up for updates on that trip at agoldphoto.com/colorado.
