This is PetSmart’s policy for their day camps and it’s been in affect for years. It’s not covering dogs who walk into their store, but still, it’s a shame.
PetSmart’s Day Camps are described as “A safe, fun place for dogs to play instead of leaving them home alone or with a pet sitter! Camp is open 7 days a week & features convenient hours so campers can enjoy lots of organized activities with our safety-certified, pet-loving staff.”
This is an excerpt from their policy regarding day camps.
“Furthermore, for the safety of all animals and associates, we cannot accept dogs of the “bully breed” classification or wolves/wolf hybrids including American Pit Bull Terriers, Miniature Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, American Bull Dogs, Bull Terriers or mixed breeds that have the appearance or characteristics of one of these breeds. At the discretion of PetSmart, some pets may not be permitted.”
We’re not sure why they feel the need to ban them, but it’s frustrating none the less. To make you less upset, here is a few of our favorite “bully breed” photos.
