If you love your pets as much as we do, you can never have too many photos of them. Getting a good photo of your pet with your phone can be tricky for a number of reasons, but we’ve got a few tips to help you.

We also work with a lot of animal shelters and rescues and know that a good photo makes a big difference when it comes to getting them adopted.

Go Outside

Lighting is very important when it comes to pet photography. If your setting is dark or your shooting into a window, you’ll have a hard time seeing your pet and the image may even be blurry.

Tire Them Out

Keeping your pets focus long enough to take a photo can be hard too. Take them for a long walk or play outside before taking their photo. If you can get your pet panting, it will look they’re smiling.

Use a High Value Treat

If you pet looks away from you when you’re trying to take a photo, try using a high value treat to get their attention instead

Use a Toy

A toy works well too. You could even purchase a Dog Selfie Stick.

Get On Their Level

Not only will your photos be more pleasing, but if you get down on the ground with your pet, you may find they become more relaxed
